About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Parliamentary Reporter to join our parliamentary reporting team. As a reporter, you will have the opportunity to work with politicians and other stakeholders to create accurate and substantially verbatim records of parliamentary proceedings.

Responsibilities

  • Transcribe and edit proceedings to provide an accurate record
  • Undertake research to ensure the accuracy of transcripts
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet deadlines

Requirements

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English comprehension
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Able to follow formatting and style guidelines
  • Reliable, organised, punctual, and prepared to work long hours at a fast pace

About Us

The role is part of the Department of Parliamentary Services working to support the operation of the Parliament of NSW.

  • Extensive training provided
  • Casual Reporters: $82.22 per hour, plus 1/12th in lieu of leave accrual
  • Temporary full-time Reporters: Salary range $130,563 to $149,360 per annum, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
