Strategic Leadership Opportunity

This pivotal role is responsible for managing multiple functions within the directorate and working strategically across the organisation to align operations with Council's priorities and values.

The Executive Manager will lead a team across the functions of Planning, Certification, and Regulation. This unique opportunity presents a meaningful impact on the region's growth, sustainability, and livability.

The successful applicant will require excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills in order to promote Council's decisions, services, projects and events.

  • Relevant degree AND/OR Building Certification (Unrestricted or Restricted).
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role; or substantial experience in a similar role, coupled with ongoing professional development to support contemporary knowledge.
  • Contemporary knowledge and experience in overseeing and developing plans and policy development at a management and leadership level.
  • Knowledge and experience in policy and legislation relating to building certification and/or development application and certification.
  • Demonstrated understanding of LEAN principles and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to engage with and influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve fit-for-purpose outcomes that drive the achievement of strategic goals.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, including influencing and negotiation, research, information analysis and report writing to facilitate planning, decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Staff management experience, with proven track record leading, developing and supporting staff to achieve work targets and objectives efficiently and effectively.
