Job Title: Design Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to join our team. As a Design Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the brand's aesthetic and quality expectations across all physical spaces within the hotel. This includes coordinating design representation, furniture, signage, and visual aids to ensure a cohesive and stylish environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the management team to ensure all spaces meet specified standards and are visually appealing at all times.
  • Work closely with the housekeeping, engineering, and food and beverage teams to maintain consistent interior design standards.
  • Lead weekly property tours with department heads to report on design-related projects impacting guest experience.
  • Assist in clear and accurate reporting of design projects amongst all departments.
  • Execute design-related projects specified by the SIM design team, including sourcing materials, vendors, and budget management.
  • Create instruction manuals for proper maintenance of spaces when needed.
  • Schedule, follow up, and oversee outside vendor projects in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Process and track purchase orders and check requests.
  • Coordinate furniture placement, landscaping maintenance, and tools and materials needed for the entire property.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop and execute physical and creative setups for activations and events.
  • Maintain, organize, and inventory all fixtures, furniture, and equipment assets on and off property.
  • Compile a checklist of public spaces and guest rooms for review with the Director of Design.
  • Coordinate on-site installations and communicate scheduled work with relevant in-house departments.
  • Source new and replacement materials for projects locally, nationally, or internationally.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of previous interior design experience.
  • Degree in a design or art field required.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suites, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Sketchup, and/or comparable programs.
  • Ability to effectively communicate creative concepts and ideas with staff and management.
  • Highly organized with extreme attention to detail while multi-tasking.
  • Ability to work alone or with a team while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Full understanding of architecture and interiors with a keen eye for design.
