Claims Consultant Job Description

The primary role of a Claims Consultant is to provide exceptional claims experiences for customers by evaluating and managing life claims in accordance with the company's claims principles, procedures, policy wording, and within stated authority limits.

Main responsibilities include independently overseeing a portfolio of claims from start to finish, actively engaging key stakeholders to achieve timely outcomes for customers, assessing, analyzing, calculating and finalizing claims payments in a timely and accurate manner, delivering outstanding customer service including claims management, communication and inquiries, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the timely and high-quality management of claims.

Key qualifications required include demonstrated experience in a similar position involving income protection, life, lump sum, trauma, critical illness, injury or death claims, retail, group or direct claims case management experience, ability to build rapport and empathy with customers during difficult times, passion and drive with a natural willingness to continue learning, and accountability for actions.
