About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Access Coordinator to join our team. As an Access Coordinator, you will play a critical role in empowering individuals with disabilities to navigate the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and access the support they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance and support to clients, stakeholders, and families to navigate the complexities of the NDIS.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop strategies that enhance NDIS literacy and access for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals with disabilities.
  • Empower clients by assisting them in accessing the NDIS, fostering their independence, and promoting their integration into the community.
  • Provide expertise and support to ensure our team delivers exceptional services, tailored to meet the diverse needs of our clients.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and external agencies, ensuring culturally sensitive support and advocating for their unique needs within the NDIS framework.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our services through participation in quality improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Establish partnerships with external organizations to enhance our collective capacity to support both our team members and clients effectively.

Requirements
  • Certificate III or higher qualifications in Health Care, Social Assistance, Community Services, or Administration.
  • Knowledge, understanding, and/or awareness of the NDIS space and the challenges participants may face.
  • Demonstrated ability to record accurate and consistent case notes.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply practice judgment when working with clients in building capacity to achieve goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a minimum of direction and to effectively communicate with and work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in working with culturally diverse people.
  • Passion for empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals.
  • Commitment to providing culturally sensitive and inclusive support.
  • Ability to travel across the designated service region as required.
