Electrical Leadership Opportunity

This role is designed for a strategic and operational leader who can drive growth across electrical, mining, and renewable sectors. The General Manager will oversee daily operations and long-term performance of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement strategic growth initiatives in collaboration with the owner
  2. Break long-term goals into executable plans and oversee delivery
  3. Contribute to reporting dashboards and business performance reviews
  4. Lead market expansion and positioning across key sectors
  5. Provide strategic oversight of business development activities to ensure alignment with operational capacity, client delivery standards, and long-term growth objectives
  6. Ensure smooth operations across quoting, planning, delivery, and closeout
  7. Maintain ISO 9001, 14001, and WHS compliance
  8. Implement continuous improvement initiatives across systems and processes
  9. Oversee use of technology to enhance efficiency
  10. Set clear KPIs, drive accountability, and develop a high-performing culture
  11. Mentor staff transitioning to industrial project delivery
  12. Lead recruitment, onboarding, and capability-building for a growing team
  13. Monitor P&L, margins, cash flow, quoting accuracy, and cost controls
  14. Collaborate with Finance Manager to ensure sound financial stewardship
  15. Oversee audit, risk, and operational compliance frameworks
  16. Provide regular reporting and insight to support decision-making

Requirements

  • Former Operations Manager or Senior Project Manager with solid experience in the electrical sector, moving into or already operating at General Management level; or an accomplished General Manager with heavy industry experience
  • Strong foundation in electrical, industrial, or renewable sectors with business-wide exposure
  • Experience with financials, quoting, compliance, people leadership, and service delivery
  • Familiarity with platforms like Simpro and Xero, or similar job and financial management systems
  • Direct experience with ISO-certified operations (ISO 9001, 14001)
  • Confident communicator who builds client relationships, leads by example, and values accountability
  • Willing to represent the business externally in client briefings, industry forums, or sector events
