AMG Electrical Solutions is seeking a commercially minded General Manager to lead growth across the electrical, mining, and renewables sectors. Based in Kingaroy, this role blends strategic thinking, business process management, and team leadership with regional autonomy and community impact.

What you will do

• Tie the business units together – from quoting and delivery to HR, compliance, and financial oversight
• Drive performance – using systems, structure, and strategic thinking
• Mentor and upskill a team – some are transitioning from residential/commercial backgrounds into heavy industry delivery
• Deliver results across operations, people, profit, and process

Your background

• Former Operations Manager or Senior Project Manager with solid experience in the electrical sector, moving into or already operating at General Management level; or an accomplished General Manager with heavy industry experience
• Strong foundation in electrical, industrial or renewable sectors with business-wide exposure
• Experience with financials, quoting, compliance, people leadership, and service delivery
• Familiarity with platforms like Simpro and Xero, or similar job and financial management systems
• Direct experience with ISO-certified operations (ISO 9001, 14001, and embedding safety and quality into work
• Confident communicator who builds client relationships, leads by example, and values accountability
• Willing to represent the business externally in client briefings, industry forums, or sector events

As General Manager, you'll oversee daily operations and long-term performance of AMG Electrical Solutions. You'll align strategy with delivery, grow the team's capability, and ensure high-quality outcomes across the business, in collaboration with the Business Owner.

Key responsibilities details

• Develop and implement strategic growth initiatives in collaboration with the owner
• Break long-term goals into executable plans and oversee delivery
• Contribute to reporting dashboards and business performance reviews
• Lead market expansion and positioning across key sectors
• Provide strategic oversight of business development activities to ensure alignment with operational capacity, client delivery standards, and long-term growth objectives
• Ensure smooth operations across quoting, planning, delivery, and closeout
• Maintain ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and WHS compliance
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives across systems and processes
• Oversee use of technology (e.g., Simpro, Xero) to enhance efficiency
• Set clear KPIs, drive accountability, and develop a high-performing culture
• Mentor staff transitioning to industrial project delivery
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, and capability-building for a growing team
• Monitor P&L, margins, cash flow, quoting accuracy, and cost controls
• Collaborate with Finance Manager to ensure sound financial stewardship
• Oversee audit, risk, and operational compliance frameworks
• Provide regular reporting and insight to support decision-making
