AMG Electrical Solutions is seeking a commercially minded and technically experienced General Manager to lead the next phase of growth across the electrical, mining, and renewables sectors. This is both a strategic and operational leadership opportunity with hands-on execution, a direct reporting line to the business owner, and the chance to shape a thriving business in the heart of regional Queensland.

About the Opportunity

Based in Kingaroy, AMG is a respected regional leader with strong capabilities across industrial, mining, and renewable energy projects. As we grow, we need a leader who can:

• Tie the business units together – from quoting and delivery to HR, compliance, and financial oversight

• Mentor and upskill a team –some are transitioning from residential/commercial backgrounds into heavy industry delivery

About You

• You're likely a former Operations Manager or Senior Project Manager, now moving into or already operating at a General Management level
  

• You have a strong foundation in electrical, industrial, or renewable sectors, with business-wide exposure
  

• You understand and have worked within key business processes — financials, quoting, compliance, people leadership, and service delivery
  

• You're comfortable with platforms like Simpro and Xero, or similar job and financial management systems
  

• You've had direct experience with ISO-certified operations (ISO 9001, 14001, and embed safety and quality into your work
  

• You're a confident communicator who builds strong client relationships, leads by example, and values accountability
  

• You're ready to represent the business externally when needed — in client briefings, industry forums, or sector events
  

Your New Role

As General Manager, you'll be responsible for the daily operations and long-term performance of AMG Electrical Solutions. Working closely with the Business Owner, you'll align strategy with delivery, grow the team's capability, and ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes across every area of the business.

The salary package for this role ranges between $150,000 and $200,000.

Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership and Execution

• Develop and implement strategic growth initiatives in collaboration with the owner
  
• Break long-term goals into executable plans and oversee delivery
  
• Contribute to reporting dashboards and business performance reviews
  
• Lead market expansion and positioning across key sectors
  
• Provide strategic oversight of business development activities to ensure alignment with operational capacity, client delivery standards, and long-term growth objectives.
  

2. Operational Excellence and Compliance

• Ensure smooth operations across quoting, planning, delivery, and closeout
  
• Maintain compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and WHS obligations
  
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives across systems and process
  
• Oversee use of technology (e.g., Simpro, Xero) to enhance efficiency and visibility
  

3. Team Leadership and Development

• Set clear KPIs, drive accountability, and develop a high-performing culture
  
• Mentor existing staff transitioning from residential to industrial project delivery
  
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, and capability-building for a growing team
  

4. Financial & Risk Management

• Monitor P&L, margins, cash flow, quoting accuracy, and cost controls
  
• Collaborate with Finance Manager to ensure sound financial stewardship
  
• Oversee audit, risk, and operational compliance frameworks
  
• Provide regular reporting and insight to support decision-making
