About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced site-based WHSEQ Advisor / Leading Hand to join our Building and Construction Services team to work on our various projects based in South Australia.

Key Objectives:

  • Provide continual improvement at the project level through implementation of the WHSEQ Management Systems
  • Support and assist project teams in WHSEQ matters
  • Coordinate WHSEQ reporting and compliance to company and customer requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Promote the Safety Certainty 2.0 Program and ensure its effective implementation on site(s)
  • Complete incident investigations as required
  • Assist the project team in the development of SWMSs and Project Risk Assessment Register
  • Conduct SIFER Self Assessments and Safe Act Observations on a regular basis
  • Ensure Toolbox meetings are held weekly and encourage workforce feedback on WHSEQ matters
  • Attend daily prestart meetings and provide WHSEQ input applicable to the works
  • Assist the Project Team in the subcontractor onboarding processes
  • Ensure new / changed Company WHSEQ processes are communicated to the project team and workforce, and are effectively implemented
  • Ensure project specific WHSEQ Management Plans are reviewed as required by project teams
  • Complete any other reasonable adhoc tasks / activities requested by Management

About You:

  • Certificate IV or greater in Work Health and Safety (Mandatory)
  • Construction White Card & Current Driver's Licence
  • General knowledge of building and construction site works, trade qualified desired
  • Good time management skills and ability to work independently
  • Effective communication skills to build positive relationships with clients, project team, management, suppliers and subcontractors
  • Use problem-solving abilities to find innovative solutions
  • Must be able to pass a Drug and Alcohol and Fit for work assessment
  • Ability to obtain DCSI and Defence clearance
  • Ability on occasions to travel within South Australia to our regional construction sites
