Job Title: Department Liaison Assistant

The Department Liaison Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Minister's Office by managing the flow of information, advice, and documents. This position serves as the interface between the department and the Minister's office, providing valuable insights into public policy development.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Accurate use of systems and processes for briefing and other product flows, general communication, record keeping, and support between departments.
  2. Active monitoring of correspondence received by the Minister's office and appropriate facilitation of responses via the department or referral to other Ministerial officers.
  3. Facilitating requests between different Ministerial Offices, such as requests for Letters of Support for programs funded by the department.
  4. Supporting the Department Liaison Officer in seeking timely and practical advice and information about departmental liaison matters.

About the Role:

This is an opportunity to work across the Sport and Recreation Victoria branch, which sits within the Sport and Experience Economy group. The team consists of Sport and Recreation Victoria, Tourism and Events, and Outdoor Recreation.

The team manages several investment programs aimed at increasing participation in community sport and recreation by maximizing delivery of outcomes aligned with Victorian Government objectives and those within Active Victoria.
