Job Summary
Our organization is seeking a highly skilled and experienced payroll professional to join our team as an Accounts Payroll Specialist. This role will be responsible for processing weekly and monthly payroll for Australia and New Zealand, managing payroll queries, timesheets, and employee setup, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.Key Responsibilities:
- Process weekly and monthly payroll accurately and efficiently.
- Manage payroll queries, timesheets, and employee setup, providing excellent customer service and support.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records, ensuring compliance with PAYG, Super, Payroll Tax, etc.
- Handle STP reporting and daily bank reconciliations, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or issues.
- Process payments (EFT, cheques, direct deposit) accurately and in a timely manner.
- Support accounts receivable: invoicing, collections, and client queries, working closely with the accounts team.
- Assist with BAS / GST lodgements, ensuring all required documentation is completed accurately and on time.
- Contribute to month-end reporting and reconciliations, providing valuable insights and recommendations for process improvements.
Requirements:
- 4+ years' experience in payroll, with strong knowledge of Australian and New Zealand payroll legislation.
- Excellent attention to detail and advanced Excel skills, with the ability to analyze data and identify trends.
- Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Able to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality results under pressure.
- CPA qualification (or working towards) is desirable but not essential.
