About the Role

A highly skilled and experienced English Language Educator is required to deliver CELTA programs at RMIT University. As a CELTA Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality English language instruction to international students, ensuring they achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver CELTA programs, both full-time and part-time, according to the requirements specified by Cambridge English.
  • Develop and implement engaging and effective English language lessons, incorporating digital learning and teaching methods.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to ensure students meet their academic objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Deputy Director, Academic Coordinators, and other team members to ensure seamless program delivery.
  • Stay up-to-date with current teaching, learning, and assessment theories and practices, applying this knowledge to enhance student outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in a relevant field (equivalent to at least 3 years full-time study in duration).
  • Recognized TESOL qualifications and experience satisfying ELICOS National Standards, the NEAS Quality Assurance Framework, and other relevant regulatory and accrediting body requirements.
  • Trained CELTA Tutor, approved by Cambridge Assessment English.
  • Current Working with Children Clearance.
  • Significant experience in teaching English for Academic Purposes.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach across a range of levels and programs.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Sound organizational, administrative, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Well-developed understanding of current teaching, learning, and assessment theory and practice.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Ability to take on Main Course Tutor role.
  • TESOL experience in a range of contexts, including offshore.
  • Teacher training experience.
  • Qualifications at post-graduate diploma level or higher in Applied Linguistics, TESOL, or Education.
  • Qualifications and experience in digital curriculum and/or assessment design and development.
