Novotel Wollongong Northbeach is an award-winning venue located in a stunning beachside location. This premium hotel features 209 accommodation rooms, 5 food and beverage outlets, and multiple event spaces offering breathtaking views and unforgettable experiences.

About the Role

As the Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for creating memorable moments for our guests in our Restaurant. You will oversee the operation of Palisade Kitchen & Bar and In Room Dining, as well as supporting the Food & Beverage Manager with administrative and operational functions. Your primary goal will be to ensure that all team members provide a warm and genuine welcome to our guests, anticipate their needs, and go above and beyond to create memorable experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Food & Beverage Manager to drive the Restaurant's performance by contributing to the bigger picture, managing costs, identifying and increasing revenue opportunities, and ensuring continuous improvement through innovative thinking.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef and Food & Beverage Manager on menu design and upsell initiatives to enhance the dining experience.
  • Maintain a calm and composed demeanor during peak service periods, and assist the team in resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Manage rostering with consideration to payroll budgets and manning guides to ensure optimal staffing levels.
  • Instill a passion for creating an exceptional experience for each guest in your team.
  • Ensure impeccable cleanliness and good repair of the outlets, addressing and rectifying any discrepancies.
  • Work cohesively and collaboratively with other key departments, such as Front Office, Bar Operations, Conference and Events Operations, Sales teams, and Kitchen, to ensure seamless service delivery to all guests.

About You

  • Have experience working in full table service à la carte restaurants or hotels (preferably within a 4.5 – 5-star venue) as a Duty Manager or Assistant Restaurant Manager.
  • Stay up-to-date with current and upcoming food and wine trends.
  • Have a working knowledge and understanding of legal compliance, SOPs, WHS, modern award framework, and national employment standards.
  • Enjoy a hands-on role.
  • Hold a current RSA.
