About the Role

Our organization is looking for skilled professionals to play a crucial role in the daily operations of our facility, which serves as the primary remand, receival, and assessment location for male metropolitan prisoners. The selected candidates will work closely with prisoners to provide meaningful employment opportunities while they are in custody.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide on-the-job training and guidance to prisoners working in industry workshops and prisoner services.
  • Facilitate the operation of various industry workshops and prisoner services around the facility.
  • Assist in delivering vocational programs that provide meaningful employment opportunities to prisoners.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions, applicants must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia. The following minimum qualifications are required:

  • Laundry Officer - completion of Chemical Handling Skill Set, or a willingness to undertake and complete.
  • Industrial Relief Instructor - Construction Industry White Card AND a Certificate III in cabinet making/furniture making/engineering.
  • Construction and Maintenance Supervisor - Construction Industry White Card AND Certificate III in a construction trade/building and construction/building maintenance/appliance service.
