Strategic Financial Leader - Hotel Pre-Opening

We seek an experienced financial professional to establish the financial framework for our Melbourne hotel's pre-opening phase and successful launch.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Systems Leadership: Establish and lead all financial systems, policies, and internal controls for the hotel's launch.
  • Strategic Partnership: Partner with the General Manager and Owners to drive profitability, develop budgets, forecasts, and provide insightful financial analysis.
  • Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting (weekly, monthly, annual) for Accor, Owners, and statutory bodies.
  • Risk Management: Uphold stringent internal controls and ensure adherence to Accor's financial policies, local legislation, and statutory requirements, mitigating financial risks.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with internal teams, owners, and external partners for seamless financial operations and compliance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

To thrive in this opportunity, you will bring an entrepreneurial spirit, exceptional attention to detail, and a deep understanding of hotel operations and financial management.

  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce, with CA or CPA qualification preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in a similar role within the hotel industry, ideally including a pre-opening.
  • Thorough knowledge and practical experience with hotel-specific financial systems and general accounting software.
  • Expertise in Australian state and federal legislation for tax, superannuation, long service leave, and National Employment Standards.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into meaningful strategic information and actionable insights.
  • Strong personal integrity, and the ability to manage a large volume of workload to meet tight deadlines.
  • Full Australian working rights.
