Senior Financial Manager Opportunity

Mercure Melbourne La Trobe Street is a brand new 4-star hotel joining the Accor network. As Senior Financial Manager, you will establish the financial framework of this hotel through its critical pre-opening phase and successful launch.

This role involves overseeing general accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and compliance of all financial reporting for Accor, owners, and statutory bodies. You will also be responsible for establishing, implementing, and leading all financial systems, policies, and internal controls crucial for the hotel's successful launch.

You will partner with the General Manager and Owners to drive profitability, develop comprehensive budgets, forecasts, and provide insightful financial analysis to guide business decisions. Additionally, you will foster strong relationships with internal teams, owners, and external partners for seamless financial operations and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and implement financial systems, policies, and internal controls
  • Oversee general accounting functions, including financial reporting
  • Partner with the General Manager and Owners to drive profitability and make business decisions
  • Foster strong relationships with internal teams, owners, and external partners
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce, with CA or CPA qualification preferred
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in a similar role within the hotel industry, ideally including a pre-opening
  • Thorough knowledge and practical experience with hotel-specific financial systems and general accounting software
  • Expertise in Australian state and federal legislation for tax, superannuation, long service leave, and National Employment Standards
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into meaningful strategic information and actionable insights
  • Strong personal integrity, and the ability to manage a large volume of workload to meet tight deadlines
