Materials Testing Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will be responsible for performing routine sampling and testing of various materials in a NATA laboratory. This includes asphalt, PMB, emulsion, aggregate, bitumen, and other raw materials. The individual must ensure that test results and calibration data are accurately documented in compliance with NATA standards.

Additionally, the Laboratory Technician will handle and manage chemicals in line with relevant standards. They will also conduct procedures safely and ensure that all equipment is kept in good condition for testing.

  • Perform routine sampling and testing of asphalt, PMB, emulsion, aggregate, bitumen, and other raw materials to recognized standards in our NATA laboratory.
  • Document test results and calibration data in compliance with NATA standards.
  • Handle and manage chemicals in line with relevant standards.
  • Conduct procedures safely and ensure all equipment is kept in good condition for testing.
  • Maintain the laboratory in accordance with NATA requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Understanding of asphalt/cement or quarry industries (essential).
  • Knowledge of Australian standards for laboratories.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
  • Team-oriented attitude with a positive work ethic.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to company safety procedures.
  • Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques (or similar).
