Customer Service Representative

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, providing excellent customer service to residents and customers.

As a Customer Service Representative, you will be the central point of contact for customer enquiries, transactions, and requests. You will provide information about Council services and processes, and deliver a customer service experience aligned with Council values and best practice standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide a friendly, courteous and responsive point of contact for customer enquiries, transactions, and requests.
  • Respond to enquiries on designated aspects of the Council's operations or direct complex and technical enquiries to appropriate departments.
  • Accurately register and record customer requests using a range of computer systems.
  • Perform administration and cashiering duties under supervision.
  • Proactively advise and recommend online services and information to residents and customers.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and exceptional customer service.
  • Answer and screen all phone calls efficiently.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrate highly developed interpersonal skills for working as part of a team, using initiative in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have excellent communication skills and demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
  • Show sound administration and clerical experience, including cash handling and reconciliation.
  • Have excellent customer service skills, with experience in Reception and Call Centre operations.
  • Have well-developed computer literacy, including experience with databases and software programs.
  • Demonstrate the ability to think laterally to source accurate information quickly and effectively.
