About the Role

We are seeking highly motivated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Disability Support Workers for our Residential Services. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting our participants to achieve their goals, increase independence, and assist with daily living tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Personal Care: Deliver personal care including showering, toileting, and dressing.
  • Meal Preparation: Prepare and assist with meal preparation and feeding.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medication and offer mobility assistance.
  • Community Support: Support participants with attendance at appointments and community-based events.
  • Shift Notes: Keep up-to-date and accurate shift notes.
  • Goal Achievement: Offer meaningful and active support to enable participants to achieve their goals.
Requirements
  • Compassion and Empathy: A genuine desire to provide high-quality care for people with disabilities.
  • Adaptability: An ability to stay calm and be adaptable in challenging situations.
  • Communication Skills: Confidence to engage with a diverse range of people.
  • Confidentiality: An understanding of privacy and confidentiality and how to treat sensitive information appropriately.
  • Technical Skills: Confidence using a range of technical platforms for shift notes, incident reporting, and timesheets.
  • Initiative: Initiative to work independently and as part of a team.

Hourly Rate

The hourly rate for this position is between $33.41 and $36.46 for part-time and $41.76 and $45.58 for casual (dependent upon relevant experience and qualification).
