With the continued growth of our services in the Illawarra region, we are seeking highly motivated Disability Support Workers for our Residential Services. We are dedicated to finding exceptional people with the flexibility to work across a 24/7 roster and contract hours between 80 to 120 hours per month. This will include working shifts across mornings, afternoons, evenings and nights (sleepovers and active nights included). 

As a Disability Support Worker, you will bring a sense of pride in the work you do, with the shared passion of supporting our participants to achieve their goals, increase independence and assist with daily living tasks. Whilst every day is different bringing new challenges, some of the day-to day duties include:

  • Delivering personal care including showering, toileting and dressing.
  • Preparing and assisting with meal preparation and feeding.
  • Administering medication and offering mobility assistance.
  • Supporting participants with attendance at appointments and community-based events.
  • Keeping up-to-date and accurate shift notes.
  • Offering meaningful and active support to enable participants to achieve their goals.

  • A genuine desire to provide high quality level care for people with disability.
  • An ability to stay calm and be adaptable in challenging situations.
  • Confidence to engage with a diverse range of people.
  • An understanding of privacy and confidentiality and how to treat sensitive information appropriately.
  • Confidence using a range of technical platforms for shift notes, incident reporting and timesheets.
  • Initiative to work independently and as part of a team.

The hourly rate for this position is between $33.41 and 36.46 for part-time and $41.76 and $45.58 for casual (dependent upon relevant experience and qualification). If you are successful for this role, you will be required to attend a two-week paid training program from 14 October 2024 until 25 October 2024.
