About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team at The Disability Trust. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing individualized support to people with disabilities, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver personal care services, including showering, toileting, and dressing, to meet the individual needs and goals of our participants.
  • Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring the health and well-being of our participants.
  • Administer medication and provide mobility assistance, promoting independence and dignity.
  • Support participants with attendance at appointments and community-based events, fostering social connections and community engagement.
  • Maintain accurate shift notes and records, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration with the team.
Requirements
  • A genuine desire to provide high-quality care and support to people with disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with participants, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the changing needs of our participants.
  • Confidence in using technical platforms to complete shift notes, incident reporting, and electronic timesheets.
  • Initiative to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
