Category Strategist

A pivotal opportunity exists to contribute to the Group Supply Chain team in North Sydney, driving strategic sourcing decisions and fostering supplier relationships.

Role Overview
  • Deliver high-quality category analysis, actionable data insights, and support end-to-end tender administration (Source to Contract).
  • Apply expertise to drive informed sourcing decisions, mitigate supplier risks, and create value across diverse suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed spend analysis, market research, and supplier performance reviews.
  • Develop reports and insights to enhance category strategies and sourcing decisions.
  • Uncover opportunities for cost savings and supplier consolidation.
Analysis & Insights
  • Utilize tools like Excel, Power BI, Coupa, and SAP Ariba to extract and analyze procurement data.
  • Provide meaningful insights for supplier segmentation and risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
Tender Administration (Source to Contract)
  • Support RFI/RFP development, evaluation, and contract award processes.
  • Manage documentation, timelines, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies and governance.
Supplier Risk & Value Management
  • Support supplier risk assessments and continuous performance monitoring.
  • Contribute to developing supplier scorecards and improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, or related field
  • Significant experience in procurement, category management, or data analytics
  • Strong analytical skills and Excel/Power BI proficiency
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Excellent time management and project coordination experience
  • Experience with sourcing events and contract administration
  • Familiarity with procurement systems (Coupa, SAP Ariba)
