HSET Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled HSET Advisor to join our team at Emeco Group, a world leader in heavy earthmoving equipment. As a key member of our HSE department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Coaching and Training: Provide guidance and support to managers on health, safety, and environmental issues, equipping them with the necessary tools and knowledge to effectively lead and manage their teams.
- Safety Management System: Actively support the development and maintenance of our Safety Health Management System (SHMS), ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Policy and Procedure Implementation: Educate and embed organizational policies, processes, systems, and procedures in support of our national HSET strategy and Emeco Safety Health and Environment Management System.
- Record Keeping and Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of site HSET records, providing regular analysis and reporting of metrics to the business to communicate progress against HSET plans and key objectives.
- Incident Investigation and Management: Lead incident investigations with site management, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions, and monitor and manage the event management system – Viking (MYOSH) to delegated authority level.
- Workplace Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits, monitoring compliance with safety and environmental regulations and ensuring all non-conformances or improvement opportunities are reviewed and addressed.
- Injury Management and Return-to-Work: Assist the Injury Management coordinator with injured workers and coordinate return-to-work activities.
- Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Health, Safety, and/or Environment, and relevant certifications such as Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, and Certification in Workplace Auditing and Workplace Investigations.
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, working in a high-risk safety environment, such as mining, resources, engineering, construction, or manufacturing sectors.
- Knowledge and Skills: High level knowledge and experience in Health, Safety, and/or Environment and Training, with in-depth knowledge and understanding of current legislative requirements and the ability to effectively apply these in the workplace.
- Cultural Change and Capability: Proven ability to drive cultural change and capability across the region.
This role is based in the South West region of Western Australia.
