Job Title

The Commercial Business Department plays a crucial role in shaping the future of the Shire through the management and operation of key commercial assets. As a Senior Leadership Team member, you will contribute openly and constructively to drive efficient, effective, and coherent commercial business services.

The Department comprises various functions, including Commercial Assets, Economic Development & Tourism, Property Services, and Facilities & Operations. You will be responsible for leading the Department to deliver sustainable business outcomes and contribute to the success and prosperity of the Shire.

  • Commercial Assets – overseeing Macleay Valley Coast Holiday Parks, Kempsey Airport, and Kempsey Regional Saleyards
  • Economic Development & Tourism – managing the Slim Dusty Centre and Visitor Information Services
  • Property Services – strategic and statutory property management
  • Facilities & Operations – managing Council-owned facilities and cemeteries
Requirements

You are a proactive and commercially minded leader with a strong background in managing complex operations. You possess:

  • Tertiary qualification/s in Business or a related field
  • Significant experience in a senior leadership role overseeing commercial operations, property, and/or business services
  • Strong strategic and financial acumen, with a track record of delivering sustainable business outcomes
  • Knowledge of governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks within a government setting
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
