Teaching Position Overview

The Department of Education is seeking a Secondary Generalist Teacher to join our team. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing a learning environment that is caring, engaging, and differentiated to cater for a range of learning needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver the Western Australian Curriculum with an excellent understanding of the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework.
  • Provide strong classroom management and skills to engage students successfully.
  • Teach one or more learning areas, preferably Mathematics, Science, English, Digital Technologies and/or Humanities and Social Sciences.

The successful applicant will be motivated and committed to creating an engaging, inclusive, and challenging learning environment; based on high accountability and sound expectations to ensure all students achieve their maximum potential.

They will also be flexible, have a strong work ethic, and develop positive, productive partnerships with students, colleagues, and the community.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework.
  • Strong classroom management and leadership skills.
  • Ability to teach multiple subjects and adapt to changing circumstances.
