POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Facility Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our Port Macquarie facility. This position involves a variety of tasks aimed at maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization within the workshop and surrounding areas.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties are essential to the role, though additional tasks may be assigned as needed:
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies, ensuring all incidents are reported appropriately.
- Prepare components and equipment for painting, which includes cleaning, sanding, and performing minor repairs.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of equipment onto transport vehicles.
- Conduct pre-delivery inspections and touch-up work on machines as necessary.
- Work independently while following instructions with minimal supervision.
- Maintain a clean and organized paint shop through regular housekeeping duties.
- Ensure the overall facility is well-maintained, which may involve tasks such as painting, minor repairs, gardening, and cleaning.
- Perform general maintenance and ad-hoc duties as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in a similar maintenance role.
- Proficient and safe use of general maintenance tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Competent in language, literacy, and numeracy, including the ability to read manuals and understand basic measurements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to follow directions and take initiative while working independently.
- Skills in fabrication and welding are advantageous.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Physical mobility, including walking and lifting.
- Experience operating access equipment and working at heights.
- Manual handling and use of hand tools are required.
