Remedial Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Remedial Design Engineer to assist with the investigation and repair of remedial and structural building defects in residential and commercial buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend client meetings, site investigations, and diagnosis of building defects.
  • Produce designs in accordance with relevant design standards and codes; prepare technical reports, building condition reports, and building defects reports.
  • Prepare project plans, including budgets, timeframes, and resource planning; prepare scope of works documents, design drawings, tender documentation.
  • Prepare tenders and proposals; manage projects on-site and inspect remedial works.
  • Provide a comprehensive remedial design service to clients.
  • Liaise with clients and contractors to support business growth.
  • Manage multiple projects to programme and budget; prepare fee proposals and meeting minute documents.
  • Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary environment; produce designs and specifications in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and National Construction Codes under limited supervision.
  • Mentor junior team members.

Requirements:

  • Civil or Structural Engineering degree.
  • Minimum 5 years' post-graduate remedial engineering consultancy experience or equivalent construction industry experience (including waterproofing and concrete repair).
  • Chartered Structural Engineer or nearing Chartered status.
  • Experience with the strata and residential industry or working on construction projects.
  • Self-motivated individual who can work independently and lead a group of engineers and drafters.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective client relationships; excellent communication and report-writing skills.
