Overview

Senior Remedial Design Engineer - Sutherland role at JN | Consulting Engineers. Based in the Sutherland office, you will be involved in all aspects of remedial engineering, including investigating and repairing remedial and structural building defects in the residential and commercial building space.

Responsibilities
  • Attend client and stakeholder design meetings, site investigations and diagnosis of building defects.
  • Produce, review and check designs in accordance with relevant design standards and codes; prepare technical site reports, building condition reports and building defects reports.
  • Prepare detailed project plans, including budgets, timeframes and resource planning; prepare scope of works documents, design drawings, tender and contract documentation.
  • Prepare and submit tenders and proposals; manage projects on-site and inspect remedial works.
  • Provide a comprehensive remedial design service to clients.
  • Build and maintain key client relationships, liaising with clients and contractors to support business growth.
  • Manage multiple projects to programme and budget; prepare fee proposals and meeting minute documents.
  • Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary environment; produce, review and check designs and specifications in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and National Construction Codes under limited supervision.
  • Mentor junior team members.
Your Experience Will Include
  • An Engineering degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years' post-graduate remedial engineering consultancy experience or equivalent construction industry experience (including waterproofing and concrete repair).
  • Chartered Structural Engineer or nearing Chartered status.
  • Experience with the strata and residential industry or working on construction projects.
  • A self-motivated, technically strong and capable individual who can work independently and lead a group of engineers and drafters.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective client relationships; excellent communication and report-writing skills.
Working Arrangements

Monthly accrued days off (ADO's) with a hybrid model: in the office Monday, Thursday and Friday; flexible to work from home on Tuesday and Wednesday. This opportunity is available for Australian residents only.
