Public Affairs and Government Relations Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement comprehensive strategic plans to protect and advance business interests in multiple jurisdictions, leveraging external relationships to position the organization as a leading voice on key issues.

Collaborate closely with senior leaders throughout the organization, advising on compliance with laws and regulations while driving projects and goals forward.

The ideal candidate will possess strong business acumen, connecting government relations and public policy matters to profit drivers and protecting against reputational risk.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Anticipating and addressing potential legislative and regulatory issues through proactive engagement with government stakeholders.
  • Developing and maintaining strategic relationships with government entities and other stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
  • Providing expert advice on government relations and public policy, ensuring alignment with business interests and reputation.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 15 years' experience in government relations and public policy, gained through senior roles at companies or trade associations, and may also include government service.
  • Strong business acumen and an ability to connect government relations and public policy matters to profit drivers and protect against reputational risk.
  • A track record of dealing effectively with all levels of government, and across party lines.
  • Ability to develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan that advances and protects business interests and reputation.
