We are expanding our team and looking for a dedicated Support Worker to join our Cairns community.



Salary: $30.60 per hour (base rate), plus superannuation and eligibility for not-for-profit salary packaging, making your take-home pay even more attractive.



Job Description:


As a Support Worker, you will provide support and care for individuals aged 65 and above in the Cairns community. You will work with clients on a one-to-one basis, providing assistance with daily living tasks, promoting independence, and enhancing their overall quality of life.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Providing person-centered care to clients, focusing on their individual needs and goals.
  • Assisting clients with daily living tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.
  • Encouraging clients to participate in activities that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and physical activity.
  • Maintaining accurate records of client interactions, progress, and any concerns or issues that may arise.


Requirements:


To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • A genuine passion for working with older adults and a desire to make a positive impact on their lives.
  • A valid driver's licence.
  • A registered, reliable, and fully insured motor vehicle.
  • Confidence in utilizing various forms of technology, such as smartphones or tablets.
  • A current First Aid and CPR Certificate or a willingness to obtain one.
  • A current National Police Check or a willingness to obtain one.
  • Flexibility in terms of availability, including the ability to work within the hours of 7:00 am - 7:00 pm, Monday to Friday, and some weekend shifts.
