About the Role

This is a permanent full-time position based at our office in the Brisbane CBD. As the Lead Payroll Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and implementing the new payroll system for our company. Post-implementation, you will lead and inspire the team to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant payroll outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement the new payroll system, ensuring it meets the company's needs and complies with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Lead and manage the payroll team, providing guidance and support to ensure they are equipped to perform their duties effectively.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with HR, sites, and external advisors to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of governance models for payroll systems and processes.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, learning, and development within the payroll team.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in the mining or heavy industry sector.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Australian payroll statutory and legislative requirements.
  • Experience in leading process improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to facilitate programs and activities across multiple sites and functional areas.
  • Proficiency in the use of variable payroll systems (preferably SAP).

Qualifications

Relevant qualifications in Payroll, Human Resources, or related disciplines are essential for this position.
