Home Care Assistant

We are seeking caring and compassionate individuals to assist individuals with disabilities in their homes and within the community, promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life.

In this role, you will provide domestic assistance around the home, helping individuals engage in various community access activities. Your support will include household cleaning, meal preparation, laundry, and general home maintenance.

As a Home Care Assistant, you will make a significant difference by ensuring participants have the support they need to live comfortably at home and participate in their local communities.

  • Provide domestic assistance, including household cleaning, meal preparation, laundry, and general home maintenance.
  • Assist participants with personal care tasks as required, promoting independence and self-management.
  • Support participants in accessing the community, such as attending appointments, shopping, recreational activities, and social outings.
  • Foster positive relationships with participants, encouraging social participation and skill-building.
  • Help participants with budgeting, grocery shopping, and meal planning, where required.
  • Provide emotional and social support, promoting participant empowerment and well-being.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including shift notes, incident reports, and other documentation as required.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure holistic and quality care.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in disability support or a related field is highly desirable.
  • A Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or similar qualification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and person-centered approach.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle (may be required to assist participants with transportation).
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates (or willingness to obtain).
  • A Paid NDIS Worker Screening Card (or willingness to obtain).
