Job Description

Clinical Midwives provide exceptional care to women with complex medical conditions throughout their pregnancy continuum.

They demonstrate excellent communication skills and build relationships to ensure exceptional patient care within a supportive multi-disciplinary team.

The ideal candidate will have current registration with AHPRA and recent experience working in antenatal, birth suite and postnatal settings.

They will also possess high levels of communication and clinical problem-solving skills, as well as commitment to the continuous improvement of healthcare and nursing practice.

Additionally, they will be able to work in a team environment including the larger multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Covering an on-call roster to provide evidence-based continuity of care for women from antenatal to intrapartum and up to 6 weeks postnatal
  • Working within the community and hospital environment
  • Working in partnership with women and the multidisciplinary team
  • Supporting the Midwifery Unit Manager in service development and data collection
Requirements
  • Current registration with AHPRA (no restrictions)
  • Recent experience working in antenatal, birth suite and postnatal settings
  • Experience of providing continuity of care to women (desirable but not essential)
  • Demonstrated high levels of communication (both written and verbal) and clinical problem-solving skills
  • Evidence of continuing educational and professional development
  • Commitment to the continuous improvement of healthcare and nursing practice
  • Ability to work in a team environment including the larger multidisciplinary team
