About the Role

The University of Wollongong is undertaking a significant multi-year project to enhance its data management capabilities. This comprehensive initiative involves a thorough review of policy frameworks, data classification and labelling, data loss prevention measures, and the identification and cataloguing of information assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the setup and testing of data classification and data loss prevention systems
  • Liaise with vendors to ensure effective implementation
  • Coordinate incident responses in collaboration with the cybersecurity team
  • Design and deliver targeted training sessions and materials to ensure all staff understand their responsibilities for best practice data management
  • Support the implementation of data cataloguing tools and ensure the accuracy of the Information Asset Register
  • Facilitate the ongoing review and communication of the Data Management Framework
