About the Role

The University of Wollongong is seeking a highly skilled Data and Analytics Engineer to join our Data Products and Automation Unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data ingestion and transformation processes, metadata repositories, security frameworks, data models, and dashboards/visualisations that ensure our enterprise data warehouse is fully functional, used, and recognised as a strategic asset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain data ingestion and transformation processes to provide timely access to raw and modelled data.
  • Design and implement metadata repositories to support data governance and security.
  • Develop and maintain data models and dashboards/visualisations to support business intelligence and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand data requirements and develop solutions to meet their needs.
  • Contribute to the development of a data-informed culture within the University.

Requirements:

  • Strong technical skills in data engineering, data warehousing, and business intelligence.
  • Experience with data ingestion and transformation tools and technologies.
  • Strong understanding of data governance and security principles.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
