About the TeamThe Applied Statistics in Health team is a research consortium within the Faculty of Science, Medicine and Health, which aims to improve services and outcomes for patients through benchmarking of care and treatment, and supporting service improvement.
The team generates robust evidence through its provision of clinical quality registries in rehabilitation, pain, and palliative care.
About the ProjectThe electronic Persistent Pain Outcomes Collaboration (ePPOC) is an initiative within the Applied Statistics in Health team, established in 2013 with the Faculty of Pain Medicine.
ePPOC collects a standard set of clinical information from specialist pain services, which is used to guide treatment for individual patients, measure outcomes following treatment, and provide a benchmarking system for the pain sector.
About the JobIn this role, you will be responsible for data management, analysis, and reporting of a large Australasian chronic pain outcomes dataset.
You will lead activities of the ePPOC data team, who maintain and develop the ePPOC dataset and outputs through quality improvement, methodological innovation, and technological change.
Requirements- A relevant degree with a strong mathematical/statistical component, preferably at postgraduate level (relevant industry experience may be deemed equivalent to a postgraduate qualification).
- Demonstrated experience in data management, project management, and data analysis and modelling with large datasets using SAS and R (three years' experience in one, and willingness to further develop skills in the other).
- Experience with automated workflows, such as integrating statistical results into other environments, along with a broad understanding of the Australian and/or New Zealand health care system.
