Job Overview

As a key member of our data centre operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our critical services and systems. Your expertise in electrical, mechanical, and fire safety will be essential in maintaining the integrity of our infrastructure.

Working on a rotational 12-hour shift roster, you will be responsible for monitoring our critical infrastructure 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You will proactively perform inspections to ensure all critical infrastructure is operating as designed and identify any possible risk to the infrastructure and buildings.

Additionally, you will respond quickly to all service requests and emergency faults, undertake initial fault finding on equipment, determine the cause, and implement the remediation of the fault. You will also provide estimated timelines for repairs with key internal teams so communications with clients can be coordinated.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to alerts and alarms, assign severity, prioritize rectification, and escalate when necessary.
  • Perform regular inspections to ensure critical infrastructure is operating correctly.
  • Undertake initial fault finding on equipment, determine the cause, and implement remediation.
  • Provide estimated timelines for repairs to key internal teams.
  • Assist with writing procedures for critical maintenance and emergency operations.
  • Support business-as-usual operations.
Requirements
  • Trade or tertiary qualification in electrical, refrigeration, mechanical, mechatronics, fire, or telecommunications.
  • 2+ years of experience in critical facilities or a related field.
  • Prior experience in managing site critical infrastructure to ensure continuity of services.
  • Experience in utilizing electronic monitoring systems to proactively monitor site conditions.
  • Strong documentation skills and technical fault-finding skills.
  • Able to communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
