The Bioinformatics Research Officer role is integral to our mission, focusing on the development and enhancement of computational and statistical methodologies for analyzing next-generation sequencing (NGS) data. This position will contribute significantly to the genomic exploration of primary and acquired chemoresistance in ovarian cancer.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and refine a bioinformatics workflow for NGS data analysis.

- Conduct variant verification and expression assessments utilizing transcriptomic data.

- Analyze SNP array data to ascertain copy number variations and investigate phylogenetic connections among tumor samples.

- Perform integrative analyses that combine whole genome sequencing (WGS), copy number, methylation, and expression datasets.

- Execute statistical evaluations linking molecular characteristics with clinical outcomes.

- Stay updated on advancements in genomic technologies and informatics tools.

Qualifications and Skills:

PhD in Bioinformatics or equivalent expertise in a related discipline.

- Strong computational skills, particularly in managing extensive datasets within a Unix/Linux environment.

- High proficiency in programming and scripting languages (e.g., C/C++, Java, Perl, Python).

- Advanced knowledge of the R programming language and R-based statistical tools, particularly those from the Bioconductor project for high-throughput genomic data analysis.

- Solid understanding of statistics and the presentation of molecular and clinical data.

- Experience in analyzing and interpreting large genomic datasets (WGS, RNAseq).

- A proven track record of achievements, such as publications, grants, or software/tool development.
