We are seeking a Bioinformatics Research Officer to join our dynamic team. This role will primarily involve the design, development, and maintenance of computational and statistical methodologies for analyzing and interpreting next-generation sequencing (NGS) data. The successful candidate will contribute to the genomic analysis of chemoresistance in ovarian cancer, working closely with a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and refine bioinformatics pipelines for NGS data analysis

- Conduct variant verification and expression analysis utilizing transcriptomic data

- Analyze SNP array data to assess copy number variations and explore phylogenetic relationships among tumor samples

- Perform integrative analyses that combine whole genome sequencing (WGS), copy number, methylation, and expression data

- Execute statistical analyses to correlate molecular features with clinical outcomes

- Stay updated on advancements in genomic technologies and informatics tools

Qualifications and Skills:

PhD in Bioinformatics or equivalent experience in a relevant field

- Strong computational skills, particularly in managing large datasets within a Unix/Linux environment

- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages (e.g., C/C++, Java, Perl, Python)

- Advanced expertise in R programming and R-based statistical tools, including those from the Bioconductor project for high-throughput genomic data analysis

- Solid understanding of statistics and the presentation of molecular and clinical data

- Experience in analyzing and interpreting extensive genomic datasets (WGS, RNAseq)

- A demonstrated record of achievement, such as publications, grants, or software/tool development
