Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Risk Manager to join our organisation, supporting the Head of Risk in overseeing risk management activities across the business. This vital role ensures alignment with regulatory requirements and organisational objectives.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of risk management principles and their application within a financial services context, particularly in superannuation. They will be responsible for reviewing and challenging risk profiles and risk in change assessments, as well as overseeing control assurance activities.

The Risk Manager will also support the implementation of the Risk Management Framework, assisting business units in executing their risk management duties, including risk profiling and incident management. Additionally, they will coordinate the risk reporting for the Audit and Risk Committee, enhancing the standard of reporting and ensuring timely and accurate information flow.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and challenge Mercer Super Business Unit risk profiles and risk in change assessments.
  • Oversee control assurance activities and undertake Line 2 controls assurance to ensure effective risk mitigation.
  • Support the implementation of the Risk Management Framework, assisting business units in executing their risk management duties.
  • Coordinate the risk reporting for the Audit and Risk Committee, enhancing the standard of reporting and ensuring timely and accurate information flow.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in a business-related discipline.
  • 2-3+ years of experience in risk advisory, preferably within the superannuation sector or institutional investment organisations.
  • Good understanding of risk management principles and their application within a financial services context.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
