Job Title: Certified Tradesperson Gardener

 

Key Responsibilities:

As a certified tradesperson gardener, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing the city's gardens, streetscapes, and parklands.

You will work in a dynamic team within the parks and gardens section, contributing to the upkeep and development of the city's outdoor spaces.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and enhancing the city's gardens, streetscapes, and parklands.
  • Working as part of a team to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Providing excellent customer service and interacting with the public in a professional manner.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of Level 3 Certificate in gardening, landscaping, or other relevant horticultural trades.
  • Demonstrated work experience and a positive approach to work with a genuine passion for horticulture maintenance.
  • Current Victorian driver's license (MR license desirable).
  • Skills in culture of plants used in the Ballarat area, common pest and disease identification and control, application of horticultural chemicals, and safe operation of mechanical plant and hand tools used in horticultural maintenance.
  • Basic IT knowledge.
  • Knowledge and understanding of health and safety issues relevant to work activities and work area.
  • Experience in supervising staff, particularly assisting in skills acquisition.
