Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Process Specialist to join our team. The Process Specialist will be responsible for modifying processes and machines to implement new project equipment and improve existing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental systems and procedures.
  • Modifying processes and machines to implement new project equipment and improve existing processes.
  • Managing daily operations, improving efficiency, and ensuring equipment operates properly with good throughput and quality.
  • Analysing data from process production and leading continuous improvement activities.
  • Developing and upgrading process capability, tooling, and machine performance for yield improvement, safety, cost, and productivity.
  • Ensuring product quality by developing control measures.
  • Testing and approving new materials introduced into the cable manufacturing process and investigating non-conforming materials and/or processes.
  • Investigating customer complaints jointly with the QA department.
  • Providing process documentation and operating instructions, including technical support regarding the cable manufacturing process.
  • Training operators, promoting safe working practices, and methodologies.
  • Sourcing equipment, parts, and supplies, and preparing capital investment proposals.
  • Maintaining and following quality standards in production according to Company Quality policies and regulations.
  • Oversight of processes and optimisation of the production line.
  • Assisting Process Technicians in troubleshooting.
  • Presenting data and reports to senior colleagues and management.
  • Reporting on material over-usage and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintaining and developing procedures for improving process efficiencies.
  • Providing technical support for Manufacturing regarding materials, compounds, process improvement/innovation, and continuous improvement strategies.
  • Actively contributing to new product development for cables.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting the process.
  • Developing best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to improve production rates and output quality.
  • Implementing lean initiatives to build a continuous improvement culture.
    • Required Skills and Qualifications:
    • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar position within mechanical, process, or plastics engineering.
    • Ability to design, operate, and implement processes, and skills to improve them to maintain efficiency, reduce costs, and improve sustainability.
    • Proven work experience in process engineering.
    • Creativity and Continuous Improvement mindset.
    • Analytical thinker with interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders across the business.
    • Proven team member who can maintain effective working relationships.
    • Ability to cope with disruption and adapt to changing priorities.
    • Passion for learning and personal growth, with a focus on industry developments.
    • Excellent general engineering problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to motivate others and liaise with people of all degrees of responsibility.
