Job Title:

Care Specialist – Urgent Care

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled care specialist to join our urgent care team. As a vital member of our service, you will provide high-quality support and ensure all patients receive appropriate care in collaboration with registered nurses (RNs).

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist RNs in delivering high-quality patient care for injuries or illnesses.
  • Perform various care activities including history assessments, administering medications, wound care, plastering, and patient education.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure patient care activities comply with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Support patient services, greeting and assisting patients, monitoring appointment schedules, registering and updating registration details as required.
  • Provide guidance on inclusion and exclusion criteria over the phone as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and well-organized clinical area, completing administrative tasks such as Medicare billing, coding, and scanning documentation into patient files.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation in all patient files.
  • Participate in workplace health and safety practices, reporting incidents and hazards as per relevant policies.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in emergency settings, with a focus on acute injury and illness management and fast-track patient flow.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle escalations, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
  • A passion for patient-centered care and a personable approach.
