Gifted Education Mentor Opportunity

Nurture the potential of gifted students and make a meaningful impact in education.

You will design and implement innovative programs for gifted learners, provide guidance to teachers, and foster a culture of excellence.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead colleagues to enhance outcomes for high potential and gifted students through evidence-based practices, informed by research and literature.
  • Evaluate and revise school learning and teaching programs to meet the needs of gifted students and underrepresented groups.
  • Guide effective technology use to create inclusive educational environments and enhance learning opportunities.
  • Develop ongoing professional learning opportunities focusing on teaching gifted learners, supported by diocesan connections.
  • Implement systematic processes for identifying and profiling gifted learners, ensuring equitable access and support.
  • Built respectful relationships with parents and community representatives to support student engagement and participation.
  • Demonstrate exemplary practice and ethical behavior in professional dealings.

Requirements:

  • A clear understanding of and personal commitment to Catholic Education and its mission.
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure a Catholic perspective across the curriculum.
  • Four-year trained teacher classification with at least five years successful teaching experience and accreditation at proficient level.
  • Capacity as an effective, skilled classroom practitioner who works independently and collaboratively to improve their own practice and that of colleagues.
  • High level interpersonal skills with capacity to develop and sustain constructive relationships within and beyond the online community.
  • Excellent organisation, communication, and ICT skills.
  • Ability to effectively utilise data to optimise organisational and educational outcomes.
  • Completed Mini Certificate in Gifted Education or equivalent postgraduate studies in HPG education.
  • Innovative mindset that supports continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Four-year trained teacher qualifications
  • At least 5 years of teaching experience
  • Active NESA Accreditation
  • Current paid NSW Working with Children Check number
  • Completion of anaphylaxis training
  • Holds a current driver's licence
