Job Description

We are seeking a diligent Medical Specimen Collector to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting blood and other specimens from patients, as well as performing 24-hour Blood Pressure and Holter monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collecting blood and other samples from patients using the venepuncture method
  • Operating ABP and Holter monitors, with a preference for experience in these areas but not essential
  • Processing pathology specimens in a safe and efficient manner
  • Working independently and participating in weekend rosters at various collection centres
  • Clerical duties, including processing paperwork and maintaining accurate records
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Venepuncture experience is essential
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact with patients, referring doctors, and colleagues
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software quickly
  • A current Australian driver's licence is required
