Medical Specimen Collector

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced collector to join our pathology services team. This role involves working with clinics in Cairns, servicing patients by collecting blood and other specimens with precision and care.
Key Responsibilities:- Collecting blood and other specimens from patients using venepuncture methods.
- Performing 24-hour blood pressure monitoring and Holter monitoring with attention to detail.
- Processing pathology specimens efficiently and effectively.
- Handling clerical duties and processing paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
- Working independently and participating in weekend rosters at collection centres.
- Proven experience in venepuncture is essential.
- Previous experience with ABP and Holter monitors is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and patient interactions.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills to manage workload and priorities.
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Must hold a current driver's licence and own a car.
- Compliance with Work Health and Safety guidelines.
- Up-to-date vaccination against COVID-19.
- Possession of a Blue Card for working with children.
