
Support Coordinator

As a highly skilled coordinator, you will be responsible for leading a team to deliver high-quality support services that are aligned to best practice. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about empowering people with disabilities and promoting their independence.
The successful candidate will have a strong focus on collaboration, quality, compliance, and continuous practice improvement. They will also possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to problem-solve and implement practical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that residential care is delivered in accordance with the organization's mission, values, and principles, in compliance with relevant legislative responsibilities and policies.
- Assess, monitor, and review client support on a regular basis, responding to changing needs and issues as appropriate.
- Develop, implement, and review high-quality person-centered plans that meet the unique needs of each individual.
- Identify and respond to the health and medical needs of clients in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, families, carers, and the community to promote positive outcomes.
- Supervise staff to foster optimal person-centered outcomes for residents.
- Promote a collaborative culture of learning, improvement, accountability, and innovation, fostering professional growth.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to front-line staff to meet the demands of their role, ensuring service standards are met.
- Develop, implement, and review individual house routines to ensure practices are person-centered and compliant with relevant standards.
- Complete required administrative tasks and documentation.
- Plan workload and prioritize utilizing effective time management.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years' experience working with adults with intellectual disability in a residential setting.
- Tertiary qualifications minimum Certificate IV in Community Services or related field.
- Ability to engage empathically with people with disabilities, including those with severe disabilities.
- Effective human resource practices, including leadership, staff mentoring, and management, and team building/motivation techniques.
- Ability to support and mentor staff to use initiative, work flexibly, prioritize work, and work in a person-centered way.
- Demonstrated experience using person-centered approaches to develop and implement individual person-centered plans.
- Well-organized, with good time management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Well-developed ability to problem-solve and implement practical solutions.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of current WHS practices and understanding of risk management in a Residential Service setting.
- Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, Rudolf Steiner's Social Therapy principles.
- Current driver's license and First Aid Certificate.
