Job Description:

The Aboriginal Palliative Care Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring culturally appropriate end-of-life and palliative care for Aboriginal people. This involves collaborating with clinicians, community-based service providers, and patient families at the primary healthcare level.

The coordinator acts as a conduit for Aboriginal patients with palliative care needs in both hospital and community settings. They must possess a deep understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal people in relation to grief and loss and Aboriginal social and emotional wellbeing.

This role requires strong leadership skills to develop culturally safe environments for Aboriginal patients and their families within a multidisciplinary team.
