Randwick City Council is seeking a Senior Heritage Planner to join our Strategic Planning department.
Purpose:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide specialist heritage advice to other divisions of Council and the public, including providing heritage comments on development applications affecting heritage properties.
About the Role:
- Assess development applications for impacts on the heritage significance of heritage items, contributory buildings, and heritage conservation areas.
- Undertake research on heritage issues in strategic planning and urban design with a low level of supervision.
- Assist in the preparation and review of Local Environmental Plans, Development Control Plans and Strategies, and prepare reports and advice to department's customers.
About You:
- Tertiary qualifications in heritage conservation planning, architecture, urban design or a related field.
- Ability to effectively manage a wide range of development application heritage referrals, planning projects and tasks with minimum supervision and within strict deadlines.
- Demonstrated skills in research, analysis, and preparation of high-quality policies, heritage and strategic planning documents and reports.
