**Expression of Interest**

**Randwick Local Planning Panel Community Representatives**
- Randwick City Council is seeking Expressions of Interest for eligible representatives from the local community to join Randwick Local Planning Panel (the Panel).
- Community Representatives are appointed to bring local knowledge to the Panel and are not expected to be experts in planning matters.
- To be eligible as a community representative on the Panel, a person must:

- be a resident in the Randwick Local Government Area (LGA);
- not be a councillor, property developer or real estate agent;
- have an understanding of the Randwick LGA and issues of concern to the local community;
- are able to demonstrate basic level of understanding of the planning system i.e. knowledge of Council’s local environmental plan, development control plan, local strategic planning statement and community strategic plan; and
- are committed to:

- following the _Code of Conduct for Local Planning Panel Members_ and the Local Planning Panels Operational Procedures; and
- attending local planning panel meetings and completing panel business in required timeframes.

Further consideration will be giving to the following desirable criteria:

- relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: planning, architecture, heritage, the environment, urban design, economics, traffic and transport, law, engineering, tourism, or government and public administration;
- the ability to communicate effectively and work in partnership with the panel; and
- the ability to provide flexibility and availability of time to serve on the panel as required.
- This is a part time position and will be remunerated as per Minister’s Direction (i.e. $1,500 plus GST per meeting per day).
